Consular approach
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to Japan, His Excellency Mr. IPO Désiré, visited the “One Village, One Product Market” store, located at Narita International Airport and operated by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
The “One Village, One Product” concept is a Japanese government initiative aimed at promoting international trade while providing a showcase for products of high cultural, artisanal, and economic value from various partner countries and regions.
Ambassador IPO’s visit is part of efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Japan, as well as to promote local products and Ivorian expertise in the Japanese market.
During the visit, the Ambassador toured several exhibition areas showcasing food, artisanal, and cultural products. Discussions with store managers focused primarily on the prospects for introducing and promoting Ivorian products to Japanese consumers, particularly cocoa, coffee, processed cashews, as well as handicrafts and textiles.
Ambassador commended this initiative led by JETRO and expressed the hope that cooperation between Ivorian and Japanese economic operators would continue to grow.
