His Excellency Mr. IPO Désiré received a visit from Mr. SUGIYAMA, President of the NGO Gifu-Côte d'Ivoire, at his office on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. He was accompanied by Mr. Atsunori Hashimoto, Representative Director of WAKO, a Japanese company specializing in aircraft sheet metal processing; aircraft body parts the assembly of and rolling stock metal plate works, and Dr. KACOU Georges.
After exchanging civilities and new Year's greetings, the Ambassador praised the cordial relations between Côte d'Ivoire and Japan and thanked Mr. SUGIYAMA for the many donations made to the children of Côte d'Ivoire through his NGO.
Relating to the purpose of his visit, Mr. SUGIYAMA said that he wanted to inform the Ambassador about preparations for the next donation of pairs of shoes to children in the sub-prefecture of Ores-Krobou, in the department of Agboville, from March 16 to 22, 2026. The Ambassador welcomed this VGBGinitiative.
As for Mr. Atsunori Hashimoto, who will be traveling with the group, he informed the Ambassador that this trip will also serve as a prospecting mission to identify young Ivorians with the skills to work in the sheet metal and aircraft and rolling stock assembly sectors.
The Ambassador promised to provide the Embassy's support to ensure the success of the mission.
